Moving around the board

In this section we look at how the pieces move around the board and take other pieces with the help of an AI Chessboard.

Interactive AI Chessboard.

Click on the different pieces to what moves they can make. The board will light up the square that the chess piece can go to, for knights this is the last square. If the piece doesn't have a path that lights up then that is because it can't make any moves from it's current position.

The chessboard AI will respond and try to beat you like a real opponent. Try as many chess moves as you can and see if you can beat the AI Chess Player. Refresh this page to start over.

One important rule to remember, when playing on a real chess board, is that if you touch a chess piece then you are expected to move that piece.

Another important rule is that white always moves first, like below.
